Super Hero and I learned all about scientific observations and inferences at our Nature Day class. We observed a cricket and a mealworm through a magnifying glass and a microscope. We even collected samples of snake skin and a bit of a snake egg from which baby snakes had hatched a while ago.  We learned the differences between observations and inferences. It didn’t come easily for the children at first, but after a little practice, they were observing and inferencing like pro scientists 🙂

At the end, the children, or rather, the “scientists” had a close encounter with an iguana, a tarantula, a snake and a hedgehog.  Great fun!

exotic animals in palmetto bay nature class - lucy the tarantula from Chile

Here’s me joining in the fun, of course! Holding Lucy, the tarantula from Chile. She’s so soft and light, one can barely notice her … Well, not quite! 😉

Thank you Miss Yoelly and Miss Alex for a super fun first day class!
