Moving Beyond the Page 6-8 – Concept 1, Unit 3, Lesson 11: Community Members Depend on One Another Today we studied how plants, animals, and humans are dependent on one another. We learned about the food chain, where some animals are on top and usually plants in the bottom. We created 4 different food chains on several habitats. And lastly, we looked at our own diet. AA established he was on top and traced back all links on our food chain.

We visited the Everglades today and enjoyed a fun airboat ride across its vast shallow waters. We got to see real alligators in their habitats and experience first hand what we had been learning about during our MBTP lessons. AA had the opportunity to pet a baby alligator and also see a collection of other animals that belonged to swamps habitat. A very fruitful and enjoyable way to complement our learning of habitats.
