Homeschool Field Trip to the US Coast Guard
We had the opportunity to visit the U.S. Coast Guard in Opa Locka with a group of H.O.M.E. homeschoolers. Many thanks to Andrea and Ray Medina for having organized this wonderful trip.
The kids had a ball visiting the facilities and getting up close and personal with the airplanes and helicopters. They learned about the major role that the US Coast Guard plays in the security of this nation. And also, how they help folks in distress throughout the Caribbean, Latin America and even the world.
Field trips are just awesome. I always looked forward towards them when I was in the school. They are like an escape to the world that is outside school and I believe that there should be one field trip per week.
