FREE Teaching Resource Websites

I collected a list of 10 teaching resource websites that offer excellent lesson plans, courses, games, worksheets and other teaching support resources completely free. Most also offer a membership option where you can peruse the content free of distracting ads. Others, such as #3:, let you download a limited number of worksheets per month with the free version, (although other downloads such as activities or articles do not count toward the quota). Their paid membership removes all limitations.

So, without further ado, here’s the list, in no particular order:

1. Sheppard Software

Hundreds educational games, activities, quizzes, articles and more –for kids and everyone to use online – and free!

2. Lesson Sense

LessonSense offers a collection of free worksheets, lesson ideas & plans, crafts and flashcards for preschool, kindergarten, first grade mostly. There are some resources for the upper grades.

This website is really nice, there are so many worksheets, articles, how-to’s, activities and information to enhance children’s education. You can access everything for free, but you must become a member to lift download limitations.

4. ABCya

Free educational kids computer games and activities for elementary students.

5. TES Connect

Think, Educate, Share – offers hundreds of lesson plans, teaching ideas, games, worksheets or activities contributed by teachers in the U.K.

6. Share My Lesson

The American sister site to #5 TES Connect from the U.K (right above).  This site also offers hundreds of free materials to support your lessons.

7. Mrs Pancake

Lovely resources for young kids from preschool to upper elementary. Her lesson plans, worksheets and doodads are very creative with fun, whimsical illustrations.

8. Learning Page

Offers a wide collection of professionally produced lesson plans, books, worksheets, and much more. You need to become a member in order to download their materials, but registration is free!  A paid option is also available to access further resources.

9. EZ School

Free educational materials for K-12 organized by grade/level and subjects. Some materials are available in Spanish, Japanese and Hindi!

10. Worksheet Works

I really liked this site because it offers  well thought-out, smart worksheets; and you can create your own on the spot. Their collection includes math, language arts, geography, and miscellaneous topics.

I hope some of these resources will contribute to your lessons. If you know of any such sites that offer free, sound teaching and learning materials, please let me know. I intend to prepare another list like this one soon.
