Roberto, Super Hero and I had the pleasure of attending the outstanding “Double Brahms” performance by The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) with the renowned Venezuelan conductor Eduardo Marturet.

A master of counterpoint and development, the music of Johannes Brahms has long been an inspiration for a generation of composers. Considered both a traditionist and an innovator, this program pairs together the pastoral Symphony No. 2 with his famed “Double Concerto,” showcasing the talents of Concertmaster Daniel Andai with Brian Manker, Solo Cellist of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal.

Program

Brahms: Double Concerto in A minor, Op. 102 with Daniel Andai, Violin with Brian Manker,Cello

Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73

For all of you classical music lovers, you can get really sweet deals on tickets for The Miami Symphony Orchestra via Amazon Local. This service works much like groupon, or any of those discount programs so popular these days, that email you all sorts of daily discounts. I think it’s totally worth signing up with these guys, even if you don’t buy everything (who does?) or all that much, you get lots of ideas on fun happenings and events.

We’re so looking forward to more of these spectacular concerts. It’s also a fantastic way of motivating Super Hero to continue with his piano and violin lessons. Our appreciation to all MISO’s musicians for delivering such beautiful uplifting music!
