One of my latest exciting finds is Google’s Tour Builder.  It’s still on Beta, but I was already able to navigate through some fun tours, one of which was “Make Way for Ducklings” the classic picture book by Robert McCloskey.

It is really worth taking a look. The virtual tour, which includes Google Earth’s features, delivered a fantastic way to bring the book to life. It’s totally a vivid experience to actually see the path Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and their little ducklings, Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack and Quack took as they searched for a home in Boston.

Many thanks to Mary Ellen McNamara, who developed this particular tour. I bet, it’d be fun to start developing some virtual tours of our favorite books. If you have any suggestions, please share them.  Aside from actually traveling to a particular site, nothing can beat this type of virtual touring. Thank you Google. I wonder how would we manage without you!
